BROWNSBURG (November 24, 2020) – State Bank, an independently owned and operated community bank, today announced that Tony Albrecht will join their Commercial Lending Group as Executive Vice President and will lead plans for the bank’s expansion into Lafayette and Tippecanoe County. State Bank expects to have a physical banking location in Lafayette by late 2021. This announcement comes on the heels of announcing expansion into Carmel and Hamilton County, with a planned opening at 126th and Gray Road by mid-2021.

“We are so excited to bring Tony Albrecht to our banking family. His experience, expertise and knowledge of commercial lending and the Lafayette area is unmatched and he will provide us guidance as we look to enter Tippecanoe County with our locally owned, locally loved style of banking,” said Mike Baker, president and CEO at State Bank (formerly State Bank of Lizton).

Albrecht is a former regional president with a regional bank and was president/CEO of Lafayette Bank & Trust. He will function as the Chief Lending Officer for the bank and as Lafayette Area Market President; his focus will be on establishing and growing the State Bank footprint in that market. “Tony’s credit and lending experience as well as leadership ability make him an asset for our bank as we grow our footprint. His focus will be, as ours is, working with family-owned and privately-held businesses as well as individuals and families who are looking to improve their banking relationship”, said Baker.

Albrecht received a BS degree from Purdue University Krannert School of Management and started his banking career at Bank One in Lafayette in 1986. His banking career spans 30 years of community banking experience, primarily in the Lafayette/Tippecanoe County market.

He has been committed to the community in Lafayette and currently serves on the Grants Board for North Central Health Services, and the boards of Jasper County Economic Development and the Indiana Community Business Credit Corporation. Albrecht lives in Lafayette and has four grown children.

“I look forward to building a future for State Bank and expanding the bank’s presence in my hometown. This is a great community and I know they will welcome the addition of this customer-focused, community-oriented and locally owned bank”, said Albrecht.

“We are a relationship bank, no doubt, and we are proud of the loyal customer relationships we have built over the years,” said Baker. “We are building on our reputation as a premier community bank and look forward to continuing to support and serve the needs of our customers wherever they work and live.”

With its nearly 110-year history, the community bank was voted best bank in Hendricks County nine out of the past 10 years.
