Speedway, IN – State Bank today celebrated the groundbreaking of its new Speedway branch, marking a significant milestone in the Bank’s continued growth across Central Indiana and its first-ever location in Marion County. Community leaders, local officials, State Bank employees, and guests gathered at 1520 N. Main St. to commemorate the start of construction on the Bank’s newest full-service branch, scheduled to open in the spring of 2027. This groundbreaking follows the Bank’s announcement earlier this year that it would expand into the Indianapolis market for the first time.
The Speedway location represents the latest step in State Bank’s strategic growth trajectory as the community bank continues to invest in vibrant communities throughout central Indiana while maintaining its commitment to relationship-based banking and local decision-making.
“Today’s groundbreaking is about much more than a new building,” said Matt Price, President and CEO of State Bank. “It represents a major milestone in our history as we cross into Marion County for the first time and expand into one of Indiana’s most dynamic markets. We are experiencing tremendous momentum as an organization, but our focus remains the same as it has been for more than a century: helping local businesses thrive, supporting families, and investing in the communities we serve.”
Price noted that Speedway’s unique blend of tradition, innovation, and community spirit made it an ideal location for State Bank’s first Marion County office. During the ceremony, Price presented Dr. Kyle Trebley, superintendent of Speedway Schools, with a $40,000 donation supporting local education initiatives.
Price further stated, “Speedway Schools are excellent, and there is an undeniable community spirit that is palpable and inspiring.”
“Speedway embodies many of the values that have guided State Bank since 1910,” Price said. “It’s a community that honors its history while continually moving forward, and that’s exactly the type of community where we want to invest and build long-term relationships. We are excited to become part of Speedway’s future and bring community banking back to Main Street.”
When completed, the new branch will provide a full range of personal and business banking services, advanced digital banking solutions, and the responsive local service that has defined State Bank for generations. The facility will also include space designed to support community engagement and local organizations, reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to serving as a community partner.
The Speedway expansion is part of a broader period of growth for State Bank, which currently serves customers through offices in Hendricks, Boone, Hamilton, Tippecanoe, and Madison counties. The addition of the Speedway branch further positions the Bank to serve customers throughout the Indianapolis metropolitan area while maintaining its community-focused approach.
As construction begins, State Bank looks forward to welcoming Speedway residents, businesses, and community organizations to its newest location in the months ahead.
